​

강물에게 입이 있다면 물결이리

옅고 짙은 이파리처럼 더러는 반짝이고 더러는 잠잠한 입

얼어붙은 잠을 씻어주는 강바닥의 돌멩이들도

저들끼리는 흐르는 입이리

부비며 부대끼며 잇몸 깨물던 강둑의 풀은 비애에 젖은 입술

수종사 종소리에 닿으면 저물녘이라 발음하리;

머리 둘 곳 없는 괴로움에 대하여

두 갈래 혀가 만나고 헤어지는 두물머리

딱딱한 산그늘은 삼키고 노랗게 물든 꾀꼬리를 날려 보내리

강둑의 느티나무는 저문 줄도 모르고 잎사귀 점을 치리

서산 너머 날아간 해는 어디쯤 종소리를 내려놓을까

종소리가 새들을 풀어놓을 때까지

물 위에 떠도는 푸른 시간들 다시 돌아오지 않으리

외로워라 이 내 몸은 뉘와 함께 돌아갈까

흘러간 물결에 대하여 고민하는 일몰은

더욱 풍성해지리

​If the river had a mouth, it’d be the waves.

Like leaves, shallow and dense,

Some twinkle, others close mouths.

The stones on the sea-bed that cleanse the frozen sleep

Among themselves they may be mouths.

The grasses on the river banks

That rubbed, struggled, and bit their lips of sorrow.

If they touch the bell sounds of Sujong Temple

They’ll pronounce them as sunset time.

Two parts of a tongue meet and part at the junction of two rivers

Concerning sorrow with no place to rest its head.

I’ll swallow

The hard mountain shade and send away nightingales dyed yellow.

The zelkova tree on the river’s bank

Will tell fortunes with leaves, not knowing the sunset is near.

The sun that has flown beyond the west hillㅡ

Where will it lay down the bell sound?

Till the bell sound releases the birds.

The blue time floating over the water will never return.

I’m lonesome, with whom shall I go back?

The sunset that worries about the waves that have flowed

Will get more plentiful.

약력

2000년<미네르바>로 등단,

시집으로는 <녹색비단구렁이> <최초의 그늘> <풀등, 바다의 등><마고의 항아리> 외 2권,

공동 기행시집 <티베트의 초승달>, <밍글라마, 미얀마> ​12인영역시집『Faces of the Festival』가 있다.

​서울과학기술대학 평생교육원 시창작 강사 역임, ​현재 한국시인협회 중앙위원

번역자 약력

고창수 시인

성균관대 영문과 및 동 대학원 영문과를 졸업했으며(문학박사)

외무부 국제문화협력대사, 파키스탄 대사, 시애틀 총영사를 역임하였다.

1965년「시문학」및 영어시로 미국 문단에 등단했으며,<한국번역문학상>을 수상한 바 있다.

비디오 시네 포엠 『Mohenjodaro』가 부산국제영화제에서 상영되었으며,

미국 독립영화제 Charleston International Film Festival에서 입선하였다

.비디오 시네 포엠 작품으로 『By the Sea』『Hand in the Sun』등이 있다.
